The Waccamaw Neck
The Waccamaw Neck is that stretch of land lying between the Atlantic Ocean and the Waccamaw River and extending for more than 20 miles from Georgetown’s Winyah Bay to the town of Murrells Inlet. Here you will find our communities of Pawleys Island and Litchfield Beaches. Unique neighborhoods on the beaches, marshes, golf courses and Intra Coastal Water Way. The Neck is home to more than 20,000 residents with thousands more enjoying the beaches and Golf Courses that are in abundance here. Natural attractions also include the thousands of acres of Hunting Beach State Park and Brookgreen Gardens. Our shopping and dining are the tops but the greatest thing we offer is our unhurried lifestyle. The Waccamaw Neck is simply a beautiful place to live or vacation. If you are looking for the perfect place on the Atlantic Coast, you must experience the Waccamaw Neck.
Myrtle Beach SC
Just 30 Miles north of Pawleys Island and a whole world apart. Myrtle Beach and its multitude of attractions is a fun place to visit. Shop or dine right by the beach. Take in a dinner show or enjoy the outside activities that are too numerous to mention. Myrtle Beach has always been a vacation destination and now with over 100 golf courses within minutes drive, it is truly the golfing capital of the US. Myrtle Beach will keep you busy! Easy connections from Myrtle Beach Airport to anywhere you live.
Charleston SC
Just 70 miles south of Pawleys Island Charleston offers history with class. Founded English colonists in 1670. Charleston has grown from a colonial seaport to the center of culture and history on the SC Coast. Historically, Charleston prospered from cultivation of rice, cotton, indigo and its port activities. As the cultivation of rice and indigo flourished, Charleston found itself at the center of one of the wealthiest of societies. Plantation owners needed to show off their great wealth and erected lavish townhouses and made Charleston the cultural heart of the South. Here the visitor can enjoy a walk along tree lined streets, passing 200 year old houses, some still occupied by the same families. Charleston boasts more restaurants per capita than any city in America. With wonderful accommodations and markets, Charleston is a very nice visit from our area.
